Renew Health and Wellbeing provides therapeutic support to assist adults and children to achieve their optimal health and to help them find the balance that they need in their daily lives.

Hi! I’m Kate,

I’m an Adelaide based Naturopath who believes wellness is a very personal journey that can take different forms depending upon a person’s context.  My focus is on providing therapeutic support to assist adults and children in achieving optimal health and finding the balance they need in their daily lives.

I have always been interested in health and nutrition.  I know how much better I feel and function when I can carve out time to eat regularly, sleep properly, see friends and family, and incorporate some form of exercise into my day.  As a mother and in my previous roles in the corporate sector, I am very aware of the negative impacts of long hours, stress, insufficient sleep, and questionable food choices.  Despite this, I also understand that the opportunity to do things that renew us often suffers as we navigate the responsibilities of our daily lives.

My interest turned into a passion and clinical focus when I started experiencing recurrent health problems and my children started to suffer from food related issues that impacted their growth and wellbeing.

The turning point for our family was seeing a naturopath - and with their support, the issues started to resolve.  This led me to study Health Science and Naturopathy and go into clinical practice.  I am passionate about supporting others to achieve their own health goals.

 What can I expect?

Personalised, simple, naturopathic care.

Naturopathy is a holistic system of medicine that is focused on identifying the cause of illness and stimulating and supporting the body’s innate ability to heal itself.  Disease is viewed as the result of an imbalance within the body.

Encouraging and educating individuals to optimise their physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing helps the body restore balance and health.  All treatment recommendations are tailored to the specific needs of the client and could involve a range of therapies including herbs, nutritional supplements and diet and lifestyle modifications.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • The consultation provides an opportunity for you to discuss your current health concerns and goals.

If it is an initial consultation information will be sought on your current health complaint(s), your medical history, including allergies and current medications/supplements, diet and lifestyle and your family’s health history.

If the consultation is taking place in the clinic, some non-invasive clinical examinations may also be undertaken, for example, checking eyes, tongue and nails. Follow up consultations are an opportunity for you to discuss your progress and any obstacles you are having in following the treatment plan or to address a new health concern.

  • For an initial consultation please fill out and return the new client form prior to the consult.

It would also be helpful if you bring or take a photo of any medication or supplements you are regularly taking. This helps to identify and avoid any potential drug interactions. If you have had any blood tests and scans taken in the six months prior to your consultation either please email or bring a copy to your consultation.

  • There are no hard and fast rules! Any diet and lifestyle modifications and the reasons for any changes will be discussed so that the connection between your current health concerns and the change are understood. However, the objective is to have a treatment approach that is achievable and works with your lifestyle. That is one of the benefits of holistic approach that takes into consideration the entirety of your life.

  • Yes, but a child must be accompanied by an adult or caregiver to all consultations.

  • Absolutely. Naturopathy is a complementary health system that can work effectively in tandem with other modalities. The key is communication. It is important that all your health care providers are aware of the nature of the medications/supplements and therapies that you are taking. This helps to avoid potential interactions.

There are also a range of clinical investigations that doctors or other clinicians can order which provide useful information on your health status and can be obtained with the Medicare rebate.

  • Unfortunately, from 1 April 2019, private health insurers are no longer obligated to include Naturopathy treatments as part of their benefits. They can offer it as an additional benefit but they are no longer legally required to do so. Naturopathy is not covered by Medicare.

  • Please contact the clinic as soon as possible if you have any negative reactions to a product so that a response can be discussed. If you are experiencing signs of an allergic reaction such as swelling, vomiting, redness or itchiness please contact your doctor. If you are having difficulties breathing please ring 000 for an ambulance. Allergic reactions to herbs or products are thankfully rare but may happen if you have an undiagnosed allergy.
